Why pages were slow far from Sweden
Mix Analyzer runs on one server in Stockholm. On a desktop in Europe that is fine. On a phone in Seoul, Jakarta or São Paulo, every page had to make several round trips across the world before anything showed up. Google's field data for real visitors told us the same story: the first byte often took well over a second on mobile.
We already cut what the page itself costs. The home page sends less HTML and draws its first screen without waiting for the full stylesheet. What was left was distance.
What changed
Your browser now connects to a nearby node of a global network, which keeps a fast connection open to our server. Pages, styles and fonts start arriving sooner, especially on mobile networks far from Europe.
Analysis still runs on our own server, exactly as before. Your audio is not analyzed or stored anywhere else.
Why the upload limit is now 95 MB
That network accepts uploads up to 100 MB per request, and an upload carries a little form data on top of the file itself. A file just under our old 100 MB limit could have been rejected before it ever reached us, with an error that did not explain why. A 95 MB limit keeps every allowed file safely inside, so you get our own clear message if a file is too large.
What 95 MB holds for a stereo file:
- 16-bit / 44.1 kHz WAV: about 9 minutes
- 24-bit / 44.1 kHz WAV: about 6 minutes
- 24-bit / 96 kHz WAV: under 3 minutes
- FLAC: usually around twice the length of the same WAV
FAQ
Does a smaller limit change my results?
No. A 44.1 or 48 kHz export, or a FLAC file, gives the analyzer everything it measures. Lossless compression changes the file size, not the audio.
I uploaded files over 95 MB before. Are they gone?
No. Reports you already have stay in your history. The limit only applies to new uploads.
Something broke after this change. What should I do?
Tell us through the support page. We are watching error rates closely after the switch and can roll it back quickly.
